# Update an emergency template

`PATCH /v1/emergency-templates/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.brixsignage.com`
- URL: `https://api.brixsignage.com/v1/emergency-templates/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Edit an emergency template's content, scope, severity, or prestaging setting.

**Notes.**
- Answers only `{ id }`, not the updated template; read it back with the list. A `severity` outside `critical`/`warning`/`info` is ignored.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string: Default "Untitled template".
  - `headline` string: Default "Emergency".
  - `body` string, nullable: Empty or null clears it.
  - `severity` 'info' | 'warning' | 'critical': Default `critical`.
  - `contentKind` 'media' | 'creative' | 'playlist' | 'app'
  - `contentId` string
  - `scopeKind` 'all' | 'node' | 'screens': Default `all`.
  - `scopeNodeId` string, nullable
  - `nodeId` string, nullable: Move the template; you need `emergency-override.edit` at the destination too.
  - `prestage` boolean

## Response `200`

Success.

- object
  - `data` object, required
    - `id` string, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, expired or revoked bearer token.
- `403`: Missing `emergency-override.edit` at the template's location or at the destination.
- `404`: No such template, or the content or a location does not exist in this workspace.
- `422`: An empty `name` or `headline`, a bad content pointer, or a scope that cannot be fired.
- `5XX`: Server error. The body carries a `requestId` to quote to support.
