# Share Video

`POST /v1/accounts/{{account_id}}/videos/{{video_id}}/shares`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://cms.api.brightcove.com`
- URL: `https://cms.api.brightcove.com/v1/accounts/{{account_id}}/videos/{{video_id}}/shares`
- Auth: OAuth 2
  - Client credentials
  - Token URL: `https://oauth.brightcove.com/v4/access_token` scopes: `video-cloud/video/create`

Shares a video to one or more affiliates - this is an Master account operation - if the video has already been shared to an affiliate, this operation will re-share it and overwrite any affiliate metadata changes

- `video_id` string, required

## Request body

- ShareVideoRequest[]: Shares a video to one or more affiliates - this is an Master account operation - if the video has already been shared to an affiliate, this operation will re-share it and overwrite any affiliate metadata changes
  - `id` string, required: affiliate account id to share to

## Response `202`

Share request accepted

- VideoShare[]: Share request accepted
  - `affiliate_id` string, required: the id of the affiliate account the video is shared to
  - `affiliate_video_id` string, required: the id of the shared video in the affiliate account
  - `shared_at` string: when the video was shared
  - `status` string: the status of the sharing - either PROCESSING, COMPLETE, or FAILED
  - `updated_at` string: the video was last updated in the affiliate account
  - `video_id` string, required: the video id

## Other responses

- `401`: UNAUTHORIZED: Authentication failed; check to make sure your client credentials were correct for the access token
- `403`: NOT_AVAILABLE: The resource you are requesting is unavailable - this may be a temporary condition while some kind of processing of the video is in progress, but if the message persists, contact
- `404`: RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND: Resource not found
- `429`: TOO_MANY_REQUESTS: You are submitting too many simultaneous requests or too many requests per second
- `500`: UNKNOWN: Issue in Brightcove system; try again later. TIMEOUT: Server likely too busy; try again later.
