# Request item revision

`POST /v1/intakes/{id}/revision`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.briefgate.dev`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Mark a submitted item as needing revision and provide a note explaining what the client should change. Moves the item status from `submitted` to `needs_revision`. Requires the `revisions` feature (Solo plan and above).

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request — malformed body or query parameters
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `402`: Plan upgrade required (revisions not available on free tier)
- `403`: Authenticated but not allowed to perform this action
- `404`: Resource not found
- `422`: Validation error — the body shape is correct but values are invalid
