# Upload a local file to Breakreach storage

`POST /v1/media/upload`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.breakreach.com`
- URL: `https://api.breakreach.com/v1/media/upload`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Hosts an image, video or PDF sent as multipart/form-data in a field named file (up to 100 MB): JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, MP4, MOV, WebM or PDF, recognised by the file name's extension. Returns the hosted URL to use in POST /v1/posts. For a file already online, POST /v1/media takes its URL.

- `400`: No file in a field named file, unsupported file type, or over 100 MB
- `401`: Missing, invalid or expired API key
- `402`: No active Breakreach subscription or trial
