# Send a direct message

`POST /v1/inbox/{conversationId}/messages`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.breakreach.com`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Replies in a conversation. Instagram and Messenger only accept replies within 24 hours of the person's last message. participantId is required for X.

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing message or accountId, unsupported platform, or participantId missing for X
- `401`: Missing, invalid or expired API key
- `402`: No active Breakreach subscription or trial
- `403`: Not a member of the requested workspace
- `404`: Account or workspace not found
- `409`: A request with this Idempotency-Key is still running: retry after Retry-After seconds to get its response
- `422`: This Idempotency-Key was already used with a different request in the last 24 hours
- `502`: The platform rejected the message
