# Retrieve a video

`GET /v1/videos/{video_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.boson.ai`
- URL: `https://api.boson.ai/v1/videos/{video_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Retrieve the Video object (status / progress). Always JSON — the rendered MP4 is downloaded from `GET /v1/videos/{video_id}/content`.

## Path parameters

- `video_id` string, required

## Response `200`

The Video object.

- Video: A video generation job (the create / retrieve response).
  - `id` string: Video ID, e.g. `video_8a1f...`.
  - `object` 'video'
  - `model` string
  - `status` 'queued' | 'in_progress' | 'completed' | 'failed': Job status.
  - `progress` integer: Completion percentage (0–100).
  - `size` string: Output size (WxH), e.g. `640x640`.
  - `created_at` integer: Unix timestamp (seconds).
  - `error` string, nullable: Error message when `status` is `failed`.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `404`: No video with that ID.
