# Add Message to Thread

`POST /inbox/{thread_id}/messages`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.boei.help/api/v1`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Add a new message to an existing thread.

CRITICAL: sender_type=agent records the message as a reply from your team; sender_type=contact (default) records it as an incoming message. This stores the message in the inbox only, it does not email or chat the visitor.

## Request body

- object
  - `message` string, required: The message body.
  - `sender_type` string, nullable: Sender type (contact, agent). Default: contact.
  - `sender_name` string, nullable: Sender's name.
