# Delete a discount code

`DELETE /api/v1/commerce/discounts/{id}`

## Request

Remove a code for good. It is safe because orders copy the code as text.

A malformed UUID answers 400 validation_failed before resource access; a well-formed unknown UUID or one outside your workspace answers 404.

Past orders keep their record of the code and the amount it took off.

- `500`: Internal error
- `502`: An upstream provider refused or failed the request
