# Get Gas Fees

`GET /defi/v1/chain/getgasfees`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://svc.blockdaemon.com`
- URL: `https://svc.blockdaemon.com/defi/v1/chain/getgasfees`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Retrieves detailed gas fee metrics for a specified user address over a defined block range, including total fees spent and current gas prices.

## Query parameters

- `chainId` '1': The unique ID to direct queries or transactions to the correct blockchain. Find more [here](https://docs.blockdaemon.com/docs/defi-api-supported-protocols#supported-chains).
- `chainSymbol` string: The abbreviated chain name for queries or transactions.
- `address` string, required: Public address of the user.
- `startBlock` string: Starting block of the range. By default, it is the latest block minus 100.
- `endBlock` string: Last block of the range. By default, it is the latest block.
