# Register a new user account

`POST /api/accounts/register/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://docs.blindinsight.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://docs.blindinsight.io/api/accounts/register/`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in cookie `sessionid`
  - HTTP basic
  - HTTP bearer
  - none
- TypeScript: <https://skmtc.dev/blindinsight/apis/blind-insight-rest-api/docs/api/accounts/register/post.ts> (a function with typed inputs; its response is checked against the schema)

This endpoint registers a new user. The user will receive an email with a link to activate their account.

This will also create a new Organization for the user. The user will be the owner of the organization.

The response will be the newly created user object.

**On the command line:**

You can supply record data on standard input with the `--data -` or write it to
a file and give the `--data <filename>` flag.

## Request body

- OrganizationRegisterUser: Overloads DefaultRegisterUserSerializer to create an organization. Note that this explicitly disallows a slug from being specified on-create.
  - `password` string, required
  - `email` string, email, required
  - `id` string, required
  - `first_name` string: First name (optional)
  - `last_name` string: Last name (optional)
  - `password_confirm` string, required
  - `organization_name` string, required: Organization Name

## Response `200`

- OrganizationUserProfile: Oerloads DefaultUserProfileSerializer to include organization_name and organization_slug.
  - `email` string, email, required
  - `id` string, required
  - `first_name` string: First name (optional)
  - `last_name` string: Last name (optional)
  - `organization_name` string, required: Organization Name
  - `organization_slug` string, required: Organization URL
  - `url` string, uri, required
