# RFQ - Request for Quote

`POST /api/prime/trading/v1/accounts/{accountId}/rfq/quote`

## Request

Solicits a quote for the requested size in base or counter currency.

The returned quote is valid until `expirationDate`. Use `POST /accounts/{accountId}/rfq/order` with the
quote `id` to place an order priced off this quote. Requesting an identical quote (same account,
product, side, quantity and quantity currency) while an identical quote is still active returns
the existing quote.

## Request body

- NewRFQQuoteRequest
  - `product` string, required: Product name in `BASE-QUOTE` format (e.g. `BTC-USD`). Must be an RFQ-supported product.
  - `side` 'buy' | 'sell', required: The side of the order
  - `quantity` string, required: Requested quantity, denominated in `quantityCurrency`
  - `quantityCurrency` string, required: Currency the quantity is denominated in (base or quote currency of the product)

## Response `200`

An RFQ quote

- RFQQuote
  - `id` string, uuid: ID of the RFQ quote. Pass it as `quoteId` when placing an RFQ order.
  - `product` string: Product name
  - `side` 'buy' | 'sell': The side of the order
  - `quotedPrice` string: All-in price the client pays (or receives, on sells)
  - `quotedQuantity` string: Quantity denominated in `quotedQuantityCurrency`
  - `quotedQuantityCurrency` string: Currency the quote is denominated in
  - `quantityCurrency` string: Currency of the client-requested quantity (echoes the request)
  - `quantity` string: Client-requested quantity (echoes the request)
  - `expirationDate` string, date-time: Time after which the quote can no longer be used to place an order

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - Invalid quote parameters
- `401`: Unauthorized - Invalid or missing authentication
- `403`: Forbidden - RFQ disabled for your enterprise, or the product does not support RFQ
- `422`: Unprocessable Entity - JSON payload is improperly formatted
- `429`: Too Many Requests - Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal Server Error
- `503`: No liquidity - No valid quote before the timeout
