# Explain a clause with AI

`POST /drafts/{draft_id}/explain`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://localhost:4410/api/v1`
- URL: `https://localhost:4410/api/v1/drafts/{draft_id}/explain`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

A plain-English explanation of one paragraph of a draft, on the workspace's own language model key, labelled as information and not legal advice, citing the clause and, for YC's forms, YC's user guide first. A decision model guards it: an explanation that recommends a choice, says what to do or predicts the reader's outcome is withheld (`explanation` null, `withheld` true) and the decision recorded. Needs the language key and a decision model. Never offered to a signer.
