# Reject or hire candidates

`POST /applications/decide`

## Request

Records a decision on one or more applications (up to 50): rejected, with a reason (not_a_fit, role_filled, withdrew, no_response, or other with a note) and optionally the rejection email; or hired, which makes the candidate an employee party. The person and the time are recorded. An agent's or an API key's call returns approval_required; a person approves each candidate with a passkey. Rejected applications are deleted after the company's retention period.

## Other responses

- `202`: Called by an agent or an API key, so the call did not run. A person approves it at approval_url; then GET the Location.
