# Erase a candidate's data

`POST /applications/{application_id}/erase`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://localhost:4410/api/v1`
- URL: `https://localhost:4410/api/v1/applications/{application_id}/erase`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Erases everything held about the person at once: their applications, résumé files, answers, notes, emails and timeline, and their Party unless it has another role (an employee keeps their Party). Refused while any of their applications is on hold. It can't be undone.

## Other responses

- `202`: Called by an agent or an API key, so the call did not run. A person approves it at approval_url; then GET the Location.
- `default`: An RFC 9457 problem.
