# Changes only the direct hire header fields sent (BF-7509): JSON Merge Patch.

`PATCH /v{version}/DirectHires/{jobId}`

Send any of the PUT fields; fields not sent are left alone. null clears a field, except the
required ones. Keys match in any case; an unknown key, a value of the wrong JSON type or an empty
body is a 400, as is clientId, a total, a status flag or a sub-resource key. Dates are yyyy-MM-dd.
A jobId in the body must equal the route.
