# Get a vehicle defect

`GET /v1/vehicles/defects/{defectId}`

Retrieves full detail of a single vehicle defect, including resolution history and attachment references (required scope vehicles:read)

- ReadExtendedVehicleDefectModel: Represents a model that holds full detail about a vehicle defect
  - `defectId` integer: The unique identifier of the defect
  - `vehicleId` integer: The unique identifier of the vehicle the defect was reported against
  - `vehicleGroupId` integer, nullable: The unique identifier of the vehicle group that the vehicle belongs to
  - `reportedByResourceId` integer, nullable: The unique identifier of the resource who reported the defect
  - `severity` string: The severity of the defect
  - `category` string: The category of the defect
  - `description` string: The description of the defect
  - `resolvedByResourceId` integer, nullable: The current status of the defect
  - `resolutionNotes` string, nullable: Notes describing how the defect was resolved
  - `occurredAt` string, date-time: The UTC timestamp of when the defect occurred
  - `resolvedAt` string, date-time, nullable: The UTC timestamp of when the defect was resolved
  - `createdAt` string, date-time: The UTC timestamp of when this defect was created
  - `updatedAt` string, date-time: The UTC timestamp of when this defect was last updated
  - `attachments` VehicleDefectAttachmentModel[]: The attachments associated with the defect
    - `attachmentId` integer: The unique identifier of the attachment
    - `fileName` string: The name of the attached file
    - `url` string: The URL where the attachment can be downloaded
