# Team season summary

`GET /v1/teams/{id}/season`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.bigballsdata.com`
- URL: `https://api.bigballsdata.com/v1/teams/{id}/season`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Season summary for a team; sport is auto-detected from the team record. HONEST COVERAGE: NBA and NHL are complete. WC2026 returns meta and standings only, with splits/last_10/top_players/season_stats empty until tournament data lands. STANDINGS GAP: the standings table carries no conference or division columns, so conference_rank and division_rank return null. `overall_rank` and the rank-1 leader that `games_back` is computed against use the SAME ordering and tiebreak as the `rank` field on GET /v1/standings; see the StandingRow.rank description. Before 2026-09-24 this route ran its own wins/(wins+losses) comparator, which ignored draws and so ordered association-football leagues wrongly.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Query parameters

ok. `{ data, meta }` where meta carries cache info (a route-local meta, not the standard ResponseMeta).

- object
  - `data` object, required
  - `meta` object
    - `cached` boolean
    - `cache_age_ms` integer

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid team id (must be UUID), or a ?season= other than the current season.
