# Career stats aggregated from NBA PBP (1996-2023)

`GET /v1/nba/players/{id}/stats`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.bigballsdata.com`
- URL: `https://api.bigballsdata.com/v1/nba/players/{id}/stats`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Approximate aggregates from `nba_plays`. Players whose entire career
was pre-1996 return 200 with `games_played=0`. Prefer the public BigBalls
player UUID returned by `/v1/players`; legacy numeric player
ids remain accepted for backwards compatibility.

## Other responses

- `400`: invalid player id format
- `404`: no NBA player with that id
