# Invite a team member

`POST /api/v2/teams/{slug}/members/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.biel.ai`
- URL: `https://app.biel.ai/api/v2/teams/{slug}/members/`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Send an email invitation to join the team with the given role. The invitee becomes a member once they accept.

**Required permission:** `teams_update`

## Path parameters

- `slug` string, required

## Request body

- TeamMemberInvite: Body for inviting a new member to the team.
  - `email` string, email, required: Email address to send the invitation to.
  - `role` 'admin' | 'maintainer' | 'editor' | 'viewer': Role the invitee will have once they accept.

## Response `201`

Invitation sent successfully

- TeamInvitation: A pending invitation to join the team.
  - `id` string, required: Invitation id.
  - `email` string, email, required: Invited email address.
  - `role` 'admin' | 'maintainer' | 'editor' | 'viewer', required: Role the invitee will have once they accept.
  - `is_accepted` boolean, required: Whether the invitation has been accepted.

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error. Field-level errors keyed by field name.
- `403`: Forbidden. Missing permissions.
- `404`: Resource not found.
