# Reserve containers

`POST /containers:reserve`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://{tenant_name}.benchling.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://{tenant_name}.benchling.com/api/v2/containers:reserve`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Reserve containers to signify that someone plans to use the containers.

## Request body

- ContainersCheckout
  - `assigneeId` string, required: User or Team API ID.
  - `comment` string
  - `containerIds` string[], required: Array of container IDs.

## Response `200`

OK

- EmptyObject

- `400`: Bad Request
- `403`: Forbidden
