# Archive containers

`POST /containers:archive`

## Request

Archive containers

## Request body

- ContainersArchive
  - `containerIds` string[], required: Array of container IDs
  - `reason` 'Made in error' | 'Retired' | 'Expended' | 'Shipped' | 'Contaminated' | 'Expired' | 'Missing' | 'Other', required: Reason that containers are being archived.
  - `shouldRemoveBarcodes` boolean: Remove barcodes. Removing barcodes from archived inventory that contain items will also remove barcodes from the contained items.

## Response `200`

OK

- ContainersArchivalChange: IDs of all items that were unarchived, grouped by resource type. This includes the IDs of containers that were unarchived.
  - `containerIds` string[]

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `403`: Forbidden
