# Update a variant

`PATCH /v0/projects/{project}/benchmarks/{benchmark}/variants/{variant}`

## Request

Update a variant for a benchmark. The user must have `edit` permissions for the project, or provide a valid project key for the project. Archiving a variant hides it without losing its history, and a report that names the variant again unarchives it.

  - `archived` boolean, nullable: Set whether the variant is archived.
