# Deactivate a member

`DELETE /api/public/organizations/{orgId}/members/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://charts.basedash.com`
- URL: `https://charts.basedash.com/api/public/organizations/{orgId}/members/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Deactivates a member in the organization. Requires admin access to the organization. Cannot deactivate the last active admin.

## Path parameters

- `orgId` string, required: Organization ID
- `id` string, required: Member ID

## Response `204`

Member deactivated successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - Cannot remove the last admin
- `401`: Unauthorized - Missing or invalid API key
- `404`: Not found - Member not found or no admin access
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - Too many requests
- `500`: Internal server error
