# Get a chart image

`GET /api/public/organizations/{orgId}/charts/{id}/image`

## Request

Renders a chart as a PNG image. Works for any chart the API key owner can access: charts on dashboards, charts created in chats, and insight charts. The image only includes data the API key owner is allowed to see. Pass chartVersionId to render a specific version; otherwise the latest version is rendered. API keys of members with the Viewer role can only render the latest version and get 409 for an older one. Rendered images are cached per chart version. IMAGE charts and dashboard header and text blocks (DASHBOARD_HEADER, DASHBOARD_TEXT) are never rendered as images; requesting one returns 422.

- `orgId` string, required: Organization ID
- `id` string, required: Chart ID

## Query parameters

- `chartVersionId` string: Chart version to render. Defaults to the latest version of the chart. Members with the Viewer role can only name the latest version.

## Response `200`

PNG chart image

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized - Missing or invalid API key
- `404`: Not found - Chart not found or no access to the chart
- `409`: Conflict - The API key belongs to a member with the Viewer role and chartVersionId names a version that is no longer the latest. The error has title ChartVersionNotLatest; omit chartVersionId to render the latest version.
- `422`: Unprocessable - The chart type is never rendered as an image (IMAGE, DASHBOARD_HEADER, DASHBOARD_TEXT). The error has title ChartTypeNotRenderable and includes chartType.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - Too many requests
- `500`: Internal server error
