# Move a dashboard

`POST /v1/dashboards/{dashboardId}/move`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.banksync.io`
- URL: `https://api.banksync.io/v1/dashboards/{dashboardId}/move`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Move a dashboard into a folder (`folderId: null` for the top level), optionally before another dashboard in that folder. Only its place changes: its content, its version and its edit time do not.

## Path parameters

- `dashboardId` string, required: Dashboard ID

## Request body

- MoveDashboardBody
  - `folderId` string, nullable, required: The folder to move the dashboard into; `null` for the top level
  - `before` string, nullable: A dashboard in that folder to place this one before; `null` places it last. Omit it to keep the place, or to go last when the folder changes.

    - `anchor` string, nullable, required: The dashboard this one now sits before, or `null` when it is last

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input — an empty or oversized order, a dashboard listed twice, or a dashboard placed before itself
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden — missing `dashboards:write` scope or a role below editor
- `404`: Not found — the dashboard, the folder or the anchor is not one you can see, or dashboards are off
- `409`: Conflict — the folder changed while the move was planned; retry
