# Create Time Off Request Comment

`POST /api/v1/time-off/requests/{id}/comments`

Adds a comment to a time off request.

OAuth Scopes: time_off:requests.write

## Path parameters

- `id` integer, required

## Request body

- TimeOffCreateRequestCommentV1: Data contract for adding a comment to a time off request.
  - `comment` string, required: The comment text. Must not be empty or whitespace only.

## Response `201`

The created comment.

- TimeOffRequestCommentV1: A comment left on a time off request.
  - `id` integer: The unique identifier for the comment.
  - `employeeId` integer, nullable: The id of the employee who authored the comment. Null when the author cannot be resolved to an employee, for example a system account.
  - `comment` string: The comment text.
  - `createdAt` string, date-time: UTC timestamp when the comment was created.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed request body.
- `401`: Unauthorized. Missing or invalid authentication.
- `403`: Forbidden. The caller cannot comment on this time off request.
- `404`: The time off request does not exist.
- `422`: Invalid request data, for example an empty or whitespace-only comment, or an invalid id.
