# Translate names from input

`POST /name-translation`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.rosette.com/rest/v1`
- URL: `https://api.rosette.com/rest/v1/name-translation`
- Auth: API key in header `X-RosetteAPI-Key`

Returns the translation of a name. You must specify the name to translate and the target language for the translation. You can also include additional parameters.</br> The endpoint returns a single translation; to return multiple candidates use the maximumResults parameter.

  - `entityType` 'PERSON' | 'LOCATION' | 'ORGANIZATION': the entity type of the object
  - `sourceLanguageOfOrigin` string: ISO 639-3 code for the name's language
  - `sourceLanguageOfUse` string: ISO 639-3 code for the name's language
  - `sourceScript` string: ISSO 15924 code for the name's script
  - `targetLanguage` string: ISO 639-3 code for the name's language
  - `targetScheme` string: transliteration schme for the translation
  - `targetScript` string: ISSO 15924 code for the name's script
  - `maximumResults` number
