# Match names from input

`POST /name-similarity`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.rosette.com/rest/v1`
- URL: `https://api.rosette.com/rest/v1/name-similarity`
- Auth: API key in header `X-RosetteAPI-Key`

Returns the confidence score of matching 2 names. You must specify the names to be matched.

## Request body

- NameSimilarityRequest
  - `name1` Name
    - `entityType` 'PERSON' | 'LOCATION' | 'ORGANIZATION': the entity type of the object
    - `language` string: ISO 639-3 code for the name's language
    - `script` string: ISSO 15924 code for the name's script
    - `text` string: a name to be matched
  - `name2` Name
    - `entityType` 'PERSON' | 'LOCATION' | 'ORGANIZATION': the entity type of the object
    - `language` string: ISO 639-3 code for the name's language
    - `script` string: ISSO 15924 code for the name's script
    - `text` string: a name to be matched

## Response `200`

OK

  - `score` number: a name matcher result
