# POST /subscriptions/{subscriptionId}/providers/Microsoft.Cache/CheckNameAvailability

`POST /subscriptions/{subscriptionId}/providers/Microsoft.Cache/CheckNameAvailability`

Checks that the redis cache name is valid and is not already in use.

## Parameters

- `../../../../../../common-types/resource-management/v3/types.json#/components/parameters/ApiVersionParameter` — unresolved $ref
- `../../../../../../common-types/resource-management/v3/types.json#/components/parameters/SubscriptionIdParameter` — unresolved $ref

## Request body

- CheckNameAvailabilityParameters — Parameters body to pass for resource name availability check.
  - `name` string, required — Resource name.
  - `type` string, required — Resource type. The only legal value of this property for checking redis cache name availability is 'Microsoft.Cache/redis'.

## Response `200`

Name is available
