# POST /objectives

`POST /objectives`

## Request

- Base URL: `{endpoint}/datagovernance/catalog`
- URL: `{endpoint}/datagovernance/catalog/objectives`
- Auth: OAuth 2
  - Implicit: `https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/oauth2/authorize`
  - Scopes: `https://purview.azure.net/.default`

Creates a new objective (OKR). Rate limit: 200 requests per 20-second window.

- ObjectiveWithAdditionalProperties: Objective with additional properties model.
  - `status` 'Draft' | 'Published' | 'Closed': OkrSharedEntityStatus
  - `systemData` OkrSystemDataWithExpired: OkrSystemDataWithExpired
    - `createdAt` string, date-time: The created time of the record.
    - `createdBy` string, uuid: Universally Unique Identifier
    - `lastModifiedAt` string, date-time: The user who Last modified the record.
    - `lastModifiedBy` string, uuid: Universally Unique Identifier
    - `closedAt` string, date-time: The time when the record was closed.
    - `closedBy` string, uuid: Universally Unique Identifier
  - `id` string, uuid, required: Universally Unique Identifier
  - `definition` string, required: The definition of the objective.
  - `domain` string, uuid: Universally Unique Identifier
  - `targetDate` string, date-time: The target date for the objective.
  - `contacts` ContactsMap: A dictionary of contact lists keyed by contact type (e.g., 'Owner', 'Expert').
    - `owner` CatalogModelContactsValueInner[]: List of owner contacts.
      - `id` string, uuid: Universally Unique Identifier
      - `description` string: A description of this user assignment
    - `expert` CatalogModelContactsValueInner[]: List of expert contacts.
      - `id` string, uuid: Universally Unique Identifier
      - `description` string: A description of this user assignment
    - `databaseAdmin` CatalogModelContactsValueInner[]: List of database administrator contacts.
      - `id` string, uuid: Universally Unique Identifier
      - `description` string: A description of this user assignment
  - `additionalProperties` ObjectiveAdditionalProperties: Additional properties for objective model.
    - `overallStatus` 'NotTracked' | 'OnTrack' | 'Behind' | 'AtRisk': OverallStatusEnum
    - `overallProgress` number, double: The overall progress of the objective.
    - `overallGoal` number, double: The overall goal value for the objective.
    - `overallMax` number, double: The maximum value for the objective.
    - `keyResultsCount` integer: The number of key results associated with the objective.

## Response `201`

The request has succeeded and a new resource has been created as a result.
