# GET /datasets/{dataset_id}/fields

`GET /datasets/{dataset_id}/fields`

## Request

Lists the fields in the schema of a dataset with their type, unit, description, and hidden setting. Not supported for metrics datasets.

## Path parameters

- `dataset_id` string, required

## Response `200`

Fields in the dataset.

- DatasetField[]
  - `description` string: Description of the field
  - `hidden` boolean: Whether the field is hidden
  - `name` string, required: Name of the field
  - `type` string, required: Type of the field
  - `unit` string: Unit of the field

## Other responses

- `400`: The dataset is a metrics dataset.
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not found
