# Creates a new AWS Account.

`POST /organizationalUnits/{ouId}/accounts`

## Request

Creates a new AWS Account within an existing organizational unit.

## Request body

- NewAccount
  - `accountId` string: The AWS account id. Required when `CreateAccountInControlTower` is set to `false`
  - `createAccountRequestId` string: The provisioning token. Required when `CreateAccountInControlTower` is set to `true`. This can used to track the status of account creation
  - `name` string, required: The friendly name of the member account.
  - `email` string, required: The email address of the owner to assign to the new member account. This email address must not already be associated with another AWS account. You must use a valid email address to complete account creation. You can't access the root user of the account or remove an account that was created with an invalid email address.
  - `ssoEmail` string, required: The email for the sso user created for this new account.
  - `ssoFirstName` string, required: The first name for the sso user created for this new account.
  - `ssoLastName` string, required: The last name for the sso user created for this new account.
  - `regions` string[], required: A list of regions to provision the CDF services (defined at the OU) within the account.
  - `tags` object
