# Get Hubs

`GET /api/pathfinder/hubs`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.awardflightdaily.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://www.awardflightdaily.com/api/pathfinder/hubs`
- Auth: none declared

Suggest hub airports for a hub-and-spoke route between origin and destination.

NEW LOGIC (2026-04-14):
- If origin IS a top-50 hub → it can serve as its own hub (no connection needed).
Still check award availability from origin to destination.
- If origin is NOT a top-50 hub → use OpenFlights airline route data to find
which top-50 hubs the origin has direct airline service to. Then verify which
of those hubs have award availability to the destination.
- Same logic applies in reverse for return hubs (destination side).

This replaces the old approach of querying the Seats.aero availability table
for origin→hub connections, which only had international routes and returned
zero results for domestic-only airports like MEM.
