# Change a deployment's throughput (deprecated path)

`POST /v1/instances/{instanceId}/scale`

Deprecated alias of `POST /v1/deployments/{deploymentId}/throughput`; works until 2027-04-02. Returns the pre-2026 `status` values and error codes, with the new values in `deployment_status` and `renamed_to`, plus every new field name alongside the old one. Responses include `Deprecation`, `Sunset`, and `Link` headers. See https://auxen.ai/docs/api/migration.

  - `throughput` union, required: Throughput level. More throughput handles more simultaneous requests at the same answer quality. Double, Quad, and Max cost 1.9×, 3.75×, and 7.5× the Standard rate. Numbers 1/2/4/8 are accepted as aliases.
    - 'standard' | 'double' | 'quad' | 'max'
    - 1 | 2 | 4 | 8
  - `capacity` 1 | 2 | 4 | 8: Deprecated alias of `throughput`; returned until 2027-04-02.
  - `confirm` true, required: Acknowledges the billing change.
