# Set a team member role

`PATCH /team/members/{user_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.autumn.ai`

- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Change a team member's role.

## Path parameters

- `user_id` string, required

## Request body

- TeamRoleRequest
  - `role` 'owner' | 'member', required

## Response `200`

The updated team role.

- `400`: `invalid_request`: The request is invalid. Fix the field in `param` (see `detail`), or read `message`.
- `401`: `unauthorized`: Missing or invalid credentials. Send your full API key as `X-API-Key: <key>` or `Authorization: Bearer <key>`.
- `403`: `forbidden`: This account cannot access this resource. The same request fails with the same key.
- `404`: `not_found`: Not found. Every route is listed at https://api.autumn.ai/openapi.json; guide at https://www.autumn.ai/docs.
- `409`: `conflict`: The request conflicts with the current state of the resource.
- `422`: `invalid_request`: a field failed validation. `param` names it; `detail` is the validator output.
- `503`: `auth_unavailable`: Key verification is temporarily unavailable. Wait `retry_after` seconds, then send the request again.
