# What the item sells for, typed by the seller in the launch plan

`PUT /walmart/advertisers/{public_id}/items/{item_id}/cost`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.autron.ai`
- URL: `https://api.autron.ai/walmart/advertisers/{public_id}/items/{item_id}/cost`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Idempotent on (advertiser, item): a second call replaces the price. The kernel reads it to value a click; without it every bid on the item holds until the item has an order of its own. Sets nothing on Walmart.

## Request body

- WalmartItemCostRequest
  - `price` number, required: what the item sells for, in dollars: above 0 and at most 1,000,000, rounded to cents

## Response `200`

Success

- WalmartItemCost
  - `public_id` string: unique item cost public id
  - `walmart_advertiser_public_id` string: the advertiser (claim) the price belongs to
  - `item_id` string: Walmart item ID as a string (the number in the item's walmart.com/ip/ URL)
  - `price` number: what the item sells for, in dollars, to the cent
  - `price_source` string: manual (the seller entered it); marketplace is reserved for a pulled value
  - `cogs` number, nullable: reserved: the seller's cost of goods, null until a route writes it
  - `cost_source` string: reserved, null
  - `created_at` string, date-time
  - `updated_at` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `201`: Price stored.
- `400`: Not a number of dollars above zero and at most 1,000,000, or the item id is not numeric; the message says which.
- `404`: Walmart advertiser not found.
