# Run a plan run's remaining cases

`POST /api/triggers/plans/{planId}/runs/{planRunId}/resume`

## Request

Starts a new run of the same plan containing only the cases this run left unexecuted, so a plan that had to be stopped can be finished without rebuilding it by hand.

Takes no body: the new run inherits the original's devices, variables, model and execution mode. Cases that were pending, running, cancelled or skipped when the run stopped all count as unexecuted and are re-run. Cases removed from the plan since are skipped, and cases added to the plan since are not pulled in.

A run can be resumed only once, and only after it has finished. The resumed run can itself be resumed, which continues from whatever it leaves unexecuted. Check `canResume` on the run status endpoint before calling.

The run of the remaining cases was queued.

  - `planRunId` string, uuid, required: UUID of the new run. Poll the run status endpoint with this id.
  - `resumedFromRunId` string, uuid, required: UUID of the run this one continues from.
  - `totalCases` integer, required: How many cases the new run will execute.
  - `executionMode` 'parallel' | 'sequential', required

## Other responses

- `400`: The run has no remaining cases to execute.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: API access is not enabled for this plan.
- `404`: Plan or plan run not found.
- `409`: The run has already been resumed.
- `412`: The run has not finished yet, a device it needs is unavailable, or it was started before resuming was supported.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded — e.g. the daily session limit was reached for the organization, or too many API requests were sent in a short window (retry after the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` header).
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
