# Restore an archived test case

`POST /api/cases/{caseId}/restore`

Restores an archived test case, returning it to case lists, directory
counts, and plan membership. Idempotent: restoring a case that is not
archived succeeds without changing anything. A case whose directory was
deleted while it was archived returns to the project root.

## Response `200`

Case restored.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid case ID.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `404`: Case not found.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded — e.g. the daily session limit was reached for the organization, or too many API requests were sent in a short window (retry after the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` header).
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
