# Add a note to a project

`POST /projects/{projectId}/notes`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api3.autarc.energy/v1`
- URL: `https://api3.autarc.energy/v1/projects/{projectId}/notes`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Api-Key`

Creates a project timeline note (`projectNote` activity) on the given project. The note appears in the project's activity feed in autarc. Attribution uses the caller's profile when one is available; otherwise the project's responsible or creating profile.

- `projectId` string, required

## Request body

- CreateProjectNoteRequest
  - `note` string, required: Free-text note to add to the project timeline. Blank or whitespace-only values are rejected (trimmed server-side).

  - `note` string, required: The note body (always present for projectNote activities created via this endpoint)

  - `updatedAt` string, date-time, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request — missing or malformed fields, unsupported mime type or fileType, or empty file.
- `404`: The specified resource was not found
