# Wallet snapshot ($0.002 USDC). Use when you need a wallet's current ETH and USDC balance or need to know if an address is a contract.

## Request

Use it when you need a wallet's live ETH and USDC balance on Base or Ethereum, or need to know whether an address is a contract or an EIP-7702 delegated account (for example before sending funds). Also returns code size and nonce. Read live from public RPC nodes at the latest block. Never charged for errors: we settle the payment only after a successful answer.

## Query parameters

- `address` string, required: 0x address.
- `chain` 'base' | 'ethereum': Chain (default base).

## Response `200`

Success (only now is the payment settled).

- `400`: Invalid input. Free: answered before any payment.
- `402`: Payment Required. The PAYMENT-REQUIRED header carries the x402 v2 requirements (amount in USDC atomic units).
- `429`: Rate limited. Nothing charged.
