# Create an account

`POST /v1/simulations/accounts`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.augustus.com`
- URL: `https://api.augustus.com/v1/simulations/accounts`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates a Mock-US USD account owned by the caller merchant. This endpoint is unavailable in live production.

## Headers

- `Idempotency-Key` string, required

## Request body

- CreateAccountSimulationBodyDto
  - `label` string, required: Human-readable label for the operating account.
  - `type` 'operating', required: Account type.

## Response `200`

The account creation simulation acknowledgement

- AccountSimulationResourceDto
  - `type` 'account_simulation', required: Resource type discriminator.
  - `account_id` string, uuid, required: Account whose lifecycle is being simulated.
