# Bulk start agent sessions (uniform)

`POST /rest/api/3/agents/bulk/invoke/uniform`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://your-domain.atlassian.net`
- URL: `https://your-domain.atlassian.net/rest/api/3/agents/bulk/invoke/uniform`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - OAuth 2
    - Authorization code: `https://auth.atlassian.com/authorize`
    - Token URL: `https://auth.atlassian.com/oauth/token` scopes: `write:jira-work`

Starts the same agent on between 1 and 50 issues, with an optional prompt shared by every invocation. Supply numeric issue-ID strings, and a Rovo agent ID. Session-start outcomes are returned inline; the agent's work continues asynchronously.

 *  If [issue-level security](https://confluence.atlassian.com/x/J4lKLg) is configured, issue-level security permission to view the issue.

## Request body

- BulkStartUniformAgentSessionsRequest: Start one agent across multiple issues with a shared optional prompt.
  - `agentId` string, required: Rovo agent ID.
  - `clientMutationId` string, uuid, required: Caller-supplied UUID.
  - `issueIds` string[], required: Between 1 and 50 numeric issue-ID strings. IDs must be unique.
  - `userPrompt` string, nullable: Optional prompt applied to every issue.

## Response `200`

Returned if the request is successful.

- BulkAgentSessionsResponse: Session-start outcomes, not completion of the agent's work.
  - `alreadyStartedCount` integer: Number of ALREADY\_STARTED items.
  - `failedCount` integer: Number of FAILED and IN\_DOUBT items.
  - `rateLimitedCount` integer: Number of RATE\_LIMITED items.
  - `results` BulkAgentSessionOutcome[]: One outcome per requested item.
    - `agentId` string: The caller's Rovo agent ID.
    - `conversationId` string, nullable: Conversation ID for STARTED or ALREADY\_STARTED only.
    - `error` BulkAgentSessionItemError, nullable: An item-level error inside an HTTP 200 response.
      - `message` string: Error message.
      - `statusCode` integer: HTTP status code.
      - `type` 'AGENT_NOT_ASSIGNABLE' | 'AGENT_NOT_FOUND' | 'INVALID_REQUEST_ID' | 'ISSUE_NOT_FOUND' | 'IDEMPOTENCY_CONFLICT' | 'ISSUE_VERSION_MISSING' | 'ISSUE_ACCESS_DENIED' | 'RATE_LIMITED' | 'CONCURRENCY_SATURATED' | 'AGENT_TRIGGER_FAILED' | 'IDEMPOTENCY_ERROR' | 'PRIOR_ATTEMPT_FAILED' | 'SESSION_NOT_STARTED' | 'IN_DOUBT' | 'UNEXPECTED_ERROR': Error type.
    - `issueId` string: Numeric issue ID.
    - `requestId` string: The per-item requestId for batch; the shared clientMutationId for uniform.
    - `result` 'STARTED' | 'ALREADY_STARTED' | 'FAILED' | 'RATE_LIMITED' | 'IN_DOUBT': STARTED: session started; ALREADY\_STARTED: recorded successful retry; FAILED: invocation failed; RATE\_LIMITED: admission denied; IN\_DOUBT: start could not be confirmed.
  - `startedCount` integer: Number of STARTED items.
  - `success` boolean: True when startedCount or alreadyStartedCount is greater than zero. Does not indicate that every item succeeded.

## Other responses

- `400`: Returned if the request is invalid.
- `401`: Returned if authentication credentials are incorrect or missing.
- `403`: Returned if the user does not have the required product access or global bulk change permission.
- `429`: Returned if rate limiting rejects the request.
