# Add customers

`POST /rest/servicedeskapi/servicedesk/{serviceDeskId}/customer`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://your-domain.atlassian.net`

- Auth: OAuth 2
  - Authorization code: `https://auth.atlassian.com/authorize`
  - Token URL: `https://auth.atlassian.com/oauth/token` scopes: `manage:servicedesk-customer`

Adds one or more customers to a service desk. If any of the passed customers are associated with the service desk, no changes will be made for those customers and the resource returns a 204 success code.

## Path parameters

- `serviceDeskId` string, required

## Request body

- ServiceDeskCustomerDTO
  - `accountIds` string[]: List of users, specified by account IDs, to add to or remove from a service desk.
  - `usernames` string[]: This property is no longer available and will be removed from the documentation soon. See the [deprecation notice](https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/deprecation-notice-user-privacy-api-migration-guide/) for details. Use `accountIds` instead.

## Response `204`

Returned if all the customers were added to the service desk or were already associated with the service desk.

## Other responses

- `400`: Returned if any of the customers do not exist. Note that any valid customers are added, but no confirmation is returned.
- `401`: Returned if the user is not logged in.
- `403`: Returned if the user does not have permission to complete this request.
- `404`: Returned if the service desk does not exist.
- `500`: Internal Server Error.
