# Add users to organization

`POST /rest/servicedeskapi/organization/{organizationId}/user`

## Request

This method adds users to an organization.

**[Permissions](#permissions) required**: Service desk administrator or agent. Note: Permission to add users to an organization can be switched to users with the Jira administrator permission, using the **[Organization management](https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicedeskcloud/setting-up-service-desk-users-732528877.html#Settingupservicedeskusers-manageorgsManageorganizations)** feature.

## Path parameters

- `organizationId` integer, required

## Request body

- UsersOrganizationUpdateDTO
  - `accountIds` string[]: List of customers, specific by account IDs, to add to or remove from the organization.
  - `organizationId` integer: The organizationId in which users need to be added
  - `usernames` string[]: This property is no longer available and will be removed from the documentation soon. See the [deprecation notice](https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/deprecation-notice-user-privacy-api-migration-guide/) for details. Use `accountIds` instead.

## Response `204`

Returned if all the users were valid and added to the organization, no response payload is provided.

## Other responses

- `400`: Returned if one or more usernames are unknown.
- `401`: Returned if the user is not logged in.
- `403`: Returned if the user does not have permission to complete this request.
- `404`: Returned if the organization does not exist.
- `500`: Internal Server Error.
