# Match provided people names/logins/emails to the account's GitHub organization members.

`POST /match/identities`

## Request

- Base URL: `{{ server_url }}/v1`
- URL: `{{ server_url }}/v1/match/identities`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
- TypeScript: <https://skmtc.dev/athenian/apis/title/docs/match/identities/post.ts> (a function with typed inputs; its response is checked against the schema)

## Request body

- MatchIdentitiesRequest: Request body of `/match/identities`.
  - `account` integer, required: User's account ID.
  - `identities` ContributorIdentity[], required
    - `emails` string[]: Email addresses belonging to the person.
    - `names` string[]: The person is known as each of these full names. The format is arbitrary.

## Response `200`

Computed identities mapping.

- MatchedIdentity[]: Response from `/match/identities` - mapping from supplied identities to GitHub organization members. The order matches the order of `MatchIdentitiesRequest.identities`.
  - `from` ContributorIdentity, required: Information about a contributor that may be utilized to match identities.
    - `emails` string[]: Email addresses belonging to the person.
    - `names` string[]: The person is known as each of these full names. The format is arbitrary.
  - `to` union, required
    - string, nullable
    - string: User name which uniquely identifies any developer on any service provider. The format matches the profile URL without the protocol part.
  - `confidence` number, float, required: Value from 0 to 1 indicating how similar are the users.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is invalid.
- `404`: The specified account does not exist or the user is not a member.
- `422`: The account's installation has not finished yet.
