# Delete Prompt

`DELETE /api/v1/prompts/{prompt_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.athenahq.ai`
- URL: `https://api.athenahq.ai/api/v1/prompts/{prompt_id}`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Deletes a prompt. Soft-deletes when the prompt already has responses, otherwise hard-deletes.

## Path parameters

- `prompt_id` string, uuid, required

## Query parameters

- `website_id` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Prompt deleted

- object
  - `success` boolean, required
  - `soft_deleted` boolean, required: True when soft-deleted (had responses); false when hard-deleted.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized - Invalid or missing API key
- `403`: Forbidden - You don't have access to this website
- `404`: Not found - Prompt not found
- `500`: Internal server error
