# Create a space

`POST /projects/spaces`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.atako.ai`
- URL: `https://api.atako.ai/projects/spaces`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Any company member can. The name is trimmed and its inner whitespace collapsed; a name already used in the company (case-insensitive) is a 409.

  - `name` string, required

## Response `201`

- object
  - `space` ProjectSpace, required: A company-owned grouping of projects. A project belongs to 0 or 1 space; deleting a space leaves its projects without one.
    - `id` string, uuid, required
    - `name` string, required: Unique within the company, case-insensitively.
    - `position` integer, required: Reserved for a manual order (no UI yet). Spaces list by position, then name.
    - `projectCount` integer, required: Non-archived projects in the space.
    - `createdAt` string, date-time, required
    - `updatedAt` string, date-time, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error (empty or too long name).
- `401`: Missing, malformed, or invalid bearer token / API key, or revoked session (SESSION_REVOKED).
- `404`: Not found, or the caller is not authorized to access this resource.
- `409`: SPACE_NAME_TAKEN
