# Delete an empty column

`DELETE /projects/{id}/columns/{columnId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.atako.ai`
- URL: `https://api.atako.ai/projects/{id}/columns/{columnId}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Refused while the column still holds cards (archived ones included — they would go in the same cascade). The obstacle is named rather than worked around: moving the cards elsewhere would change their state on the team's behalf, since a card's state IS its column.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed id.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, or invalid bearer token / API key, or revoked session (SESSION_REVOKED).
- `404`: Not found, or the caller is not authorized to access this resource.
- `409`: COLUMN_NOT_EMPTY — the response carries the blocking card count in `cards`.
