# Edit the agent's mission, instructions and business context

`PATCH /agents/{id}/instructions`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Owner of the agent, or an admin of the owner's company. A plain teammate (who can still view and chat with the agent) gets 404. Each field is optional: absent = unchanged, `null` or blank = cleared, otherwise trimmed (≤ 20 000 characters). At least one field is required. Nothing is pushed: the agent re-reads its profile every turn.

## Other responses

- `400`: invalid body / <field> must be a string or null / <field> must be at most 20000 characters / at least one field is required
- `401`: Missing, malformed, or invalid bearer token / API key, or revoked session (SESSION_REVOKED).
- `404`: Unknown agent, or the caller is neither its owner nor an admin of the owner's company.
