# Add an instruction to the agent's running turn

`POST /agents/{agentId}/turns/steer`

Hermes agents only. The instruction is queued and delivered after the current tool batch, and kept in the session history as a user message with `meta.kind = steer` (never delivered again as a chat message). 202: the frame was sent; the outcome arrives over SSE `turn_control_result` (`ok`, or `code`: no_active_turn | too_late | unsupported_engine | error). Designate the session with `conversationId` or `conversationKey` (omit both: default session).

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, malformed, or invalid bearer token / API key, or revoked session (SESSION_REVOKED).
